NOW PLAYING!
Olean Community Theatre will close its 22nd season with the presentation of two one-act dramas:  Robert Patrick's One Person and Frank Manley's The Rain of Terror

Director Kathy Malick of Hinsdale has paired two deep and unusual character study pieces to create a memorable evening of intimate theater.

One Person is a dramatic monologue which explores how one man's lifestyle influences his relationships, his loves, and his life.  This solo tour-de-force performance features OCT veteran and award-winning actor Paul A. Nelson of Allegany.  Audiences will remember Paul for his work in last season's Cabaret and in this season's All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten.

The Rain of Terror is a slice-of-life piece involving a domineering woman and her long-suffering husband.  The finely drawn characters compete with one another for the audience's attention as they attempt to tell the story of what happened the night a stranger came to their door during a torrential downpour.
One unique aspect of this piece is that its two performers are each making stage debuts.
Beth Lee of Olean plays Oletta Crews--a gritty and most challenging role.  Gordon Cross of Olean plays her husband, James Terry.  Gordon, a longtime OCT backstage regular masters his first onstage character turn.

Each of these plays deal with adult themes and contain language that may not be suitable for young children.  Parental guidance is advised.

One Person / Rain of Terror will be performed in the newly renovated Garret Theatre on the campus of. Bonaventure University.  Show dates are Thursday, May 17, Friday, May 18, Saturday May 19, and Sunday, May 20, 2001.  Curtain time Thursday though Saturday is 7:30pm.  Sunday's show is a 2:00pm matinee.
